This season got off to a fast start and by the end of June we are well into “delta time”.
The trip from Petaluma to Potato Slough was our standard nine hour trip. The motor continues to work flawlessly and pushes the boat at a steady 6.5 knots (~2.4 gal./mile). The 60 mile trip consumed 25 gal. of fuel. This is good since delta fuel is hovering at about $4.80/gal. this summer.
The weather has been beautiful and the water is warm for June. The Banshee’s arrived as early as we could bring them up and the boys set sail almost immediately. Several other folks now have sailboats and we are talking about having a Fig Island Regatta. We (and we each really did have a hand in this catch) caught a whopper – a huge catfish – and we got the picture to prove it.
The week before July 4th, we helped Marrakesh bring in their Banshee dock. Really a great addition to the floating trailer park – don’t you think?
