Charleston

We got to Charleston ahead of the storm (just) and got settled in at the Charleston City Marina (known for its “Mega Dock”).

We needed groceries and laundry so we quickly walked (under the freeway and past the hospitals) to shop and walk back with all our groceries, again ahead of the rain.

After the rain, we walked around the historic area and the homes in the original walled city.  We love the old churches that helped people coming by water to identify the towns.

On my list of things to see was the Dock Street Theater, and we just turned a corner and there it was.  We went in and watched the stage crew prepping for Kinky Boots.

We saw so many old buildings; the Customs House, the oldest liquor store, and rainbow row.

Before we left the marina, we took a stroll on the Mega Dock.  In between the massive boats was a 140′ J boat.  Incredibly beautiful.
