West Palm Beach and Mr. Flagler’s house

We (Perfect Choice and Amy Marie) walked from our boats across the bridge to the Flagler museum.  You can see both of our boats if you look way up to the right of the blue boat!

The museum didn’t disappoint.  It was impressive from the minute we got to the gates.

Henry Flagler (yes, some of you still with us will remember the sunsets over the Flagler bridge) basically created the snowbird universe here, by building a railroad.  Pretty cool.

The entrance way is marble and “impressive” feels inadequate to describe this home.  It was a 100 photo day   Here are some pix of our very Downton Abbey day.

The music room had pianos AND this calliope

This beautiful Pavilion was setting up for high tea.  We walked through his personal rail car!!!

We walked back, cutting through a mall to escape the sun for a bit.  We got cool drinks not needing anything from Cartier’s or Hermès.

We left the lovely free dock and anchored just outside the museum.

Would love to return to WPB some day.

We heard about it at the Rendezvous back in October. The Great Loop group has been an amazing resource.
