Cape May to Atlantic City

Even on a windy day before season, Cape May will put a smile on your face!

After the daily wind discussion, a smaller group of the original Flotilla headed on the inside (New Jersey Intracoastal Waterway) north to Atlantic City.  We had fantastic information from Loopers who had gone ahead of us and the combined knowledge of all the captains in our group.  It was a very focused day but it was not as bad as we had heard it could be.  Leaving on a rising tide has become the norm.

We followed each other reporting depth all day and we finally came in sight of Atlantic City and had the two surprises of the day.

We approached a bridge (leading the string of other Loopers) and there was a worker on a crane stretched across the opening – not one sign, flag, blinking light, or radio information!  We went through the opening next to the regular bridge center. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Continuing to the “always open unless a train is coming” Bridge. Which is closed! It opened for us but we are done with surprises for the day and happy to all be in Atlantic  city.
