The Western Erie – Brewerton to Baldwinsville

We crossed the flat Lake Oneida and arrived at Winter Harbor, where we will store the boat for the winter after we cruise the Western Erie and the finger lakes.

A clean and well organized place, we stayed two days, did boat chores, laundry, took the courtesy car to shop in a lovely NY town.

We passed Three Rivers, a real cross road. We have enjoyed this quiet part of the loop with the back of the Loop pack, locals, and snow birds.  At this end of the canal the majority of Loopers go a different way as they head north to Canada and/or west to the rest of the Lakes. We are headed west to the end of the Erie Canal.

The weather has been beautiful and these Erie locks have been enjoyable.  Ellen calls it the “easy” canal.

Met up with another Camano owner  always great to swap tips!  Bon Voyage Splash Landing 🇨🇦   Lots of folks fishing from the lock walls this area just feels like summer vacation!

So glad you’ll be wintering in Winter Harbor. We loved it there and it really made the time on the Erie even more enjoyable knowing that we had a place to go at end of season. Enjoy the Finger Lakes too.

Thanks Bill, you are correct about Winter Harbor, it gave us alot of comfort knowing the boat will winter there, after the western erie we plan in getting to the fingerlakes. Like you said when we first met, doing the loop in sections is the way to go.
