Half Moon Bay Marina; Dams, Trains, and NYC

We are out of the salt water!  Brian immediately started washing the boat. From now on there won’t be salt crust on the boat after every days run.  We stayed in Croton on Hudson for a planned week stay for; light chores, sightseeing, bike riding, and more visiting with old friends.

We didn’t know that the woodchuck was native to this area and enjoy seeing them everywhere.  It was refreshing to get to Croton Dam after a 2 mile bike ride.  GORGEous.

One of the best things about this marina is Jessica from My 3 Suds laundromat.  I took advantage of the laundry pick up and delivery. Wow! A very special treat!  Highly recommend Loopers take advantage, for the shelf space alone!

We took the MetroNorth train to Grand Central Station on a very hot and sticky’s day in NYC but had lunch at WoHops (which closes at 10pm now 😱). Had clear skies from the Empire State Building and a lovely visit to the Harry Potter store.  We managed to see Hadiza for just a few minutes at Rockefeller Center then headed back to our train.

We got a rental car the next day and drove to Sleepy Hollow and saw the cemetery where Washington Irving is buried.

We went up to The Walkway over the Hudson in Poughkeepsie.

Then drove to Massachusetts to see my “college family”.

While you are in the New York area. If you have never been to the site of “Woodstock”. It it well worth it. The museum is great. It is located in Bethel Woods NY. About 45 mins from Newburgh on the Hudson
