We left the small fort (Matanzas) and headed to the big fort (Castillo de San Marcos). We decided to stay for a week at Rivers Edge Marina and we loved the location. We walked and biked to West Marine, Winn Dixie and got haircuts at a very legit southern barbershop and did laundry. The marina has a fresh fish market next door (we shopped three times, see pix below, the salmon was even better) very convenient. We are docked next to Hurricane Patty’s ($7. hurricanes and Buffet music). Even in the rain, this was a great stop!
We biked into town on most days, rain or shine. We did chores on the other days. St. Augustine has a lot of museums – we went to the oldest store. Fun to see so many things in the museums that we have decorating our “old house”.
Flagler College is as impressive as Mr. Flagler’s museum. His influence is everywhere and its impeccable. His former home, became a hotel, and is now a dormitory in his college.
Remember our friends Steve & Lori from Panama City? They came to St. Augustine to visit! And of course, we went to the Celtic festival on this St. Paddy’s day weekend.
We loved the walls and foundations made of shells.
