June 2009

Memorial Day weekend, we had a fast trip and brought Delphie from San Pablo Bay to the Slough.  We averaged 9 knots and the boat ran so well, it was a very comfortable trip.
We were one of the first boats and it was quiet for the first couple of weekends, except for the wild life which was especially busy.  The herons were very brave, a blue one came close to the boat several times, an otter came right up to the boat and dove under coming up on the other side and we have turtles this year.
It has been very windy all month and we are anxious for “delta weather” but in the meantime we have added a new toy to the fleet.  Last year Brian got the boys a Capri 22 and kept in on the bay to enjoy sailing around the city.  They didn’t use it as much as they planned so this year we will enjoy it in the delta.  Brian and Josh sailed it up on fathers day weekend.
