Demolition

We towed the boat to a marina.  The trip was beautiful and gave us an idea of what possibilities lay in store.  Traveling on the river in a houseboat was wonderful.

As soon as we got to the marina – we immediately started taking the boat apart.   After we took out the free standing refrigerator, lamps, tables and chairs and other “house furniture” we were able to see the boat more clearly.

There was a good deal of water damage around the windows, the paneling had softened and even fallen off in sections.  The galley had an avocado colored stove and bright colors on the cabinets.  We suspected that it was original.  When we looked inside the head, we found bright blue wall paper and an equally colorful sink cabinet.  We also decided that the shower would have to be taken out.

We did research online and found some unexpected treasures:  The original brochure from the 1970’s.
