New York and New Jersey

We left Great Kills Yacht Club early in the morning to get ahead of any offshore winds. I had to post a photo of Frank and Sals, Staten Island where you get a bit of family and jokes with your order.  I also had to post this photo of the beautiful Stoop at the Yacht Club reminding me of Brooklyn.

We had a great run to Manasquan Inlet – welcoming us with her rocky entrance, we got through it just fine and then through the aptly named Point Pleasant Canal and turned South!

We snaked our way down the New Jersey intracoastal and stayed in Forked River, NJ, we would love to go back again.

The next day was another long one going from marker to marker and watching our depth.  We pulled into Atlantic City, we ended up at Kammerman’s marina since the huge Golden Nugget was full.  Once we got tied up we saw why.  The Offshore Powerboat Association’s “war at the shore” was going on at that marina.  We listened to the boats roar by from Sirens – a lovely “members only” restaurant.  We didn’t understand that either.  We are thrilled to have stopped there this season.

The winds had been kicking up in the afternoons and many boats stayed in, but we left early and did another 50 mile day watching all the lovely homes on the water.

Cape May is a boaters oasis with long days on either side no matter if you are headed north or south.  There is something for everyone here!  We arrived at South Jersey Marina and we will stay here for 3 days.  The Admiral is very happy to catch up on laundry, use the wifi and take care of business, and bike around this beachy town.

Here we are, tucked away at the Super Yacht marina, watching the boats is like watching Below Decks.
