Before leaving St. Michaels we caught a beautiful sunset, and got some better geese photos honking their way south. We love that we can hear the honking way before we can actually see them.
We arrived at Oxford in a couple of hours and got the bikes down to check out this small town. Each small town is similar but has a distinct feel to it. We are enjoying this prolonged time in the Chesapeake very much. The Scottish Highland creamery was close to the marina, it was extremely rich ice cream.
The next day we went to the Cutts & Case wooden shipyard. Although the boat yard was practically a museum of older wooden boats, they have a proprietary hull building technique using inlaid Kevlar rope laminated between cross laid planking, all laminated with epoxy, just amazing!! The shore towns have lush lawns, native flowering bushes and climbing vines, and shade trees of so many types. There is so much love and care spent on the curb appeal for just about every home, most are hundreds of years old.
We had linner at Capsize (next to the creamery). Brian had a softshell blue crab BLT and it doesn’t get any fresher than when the crab boats dock at the restaurant pier!
Plenty of my fish leftover for dinner!
